Rumor has it that the Sidekick3 launch party will be "in a couple of weeks." I think it's pretty conclusive that the phone we've been seeing pictures of for the last month is indeed the new device. I'm pretty happy with the music player and Bluetooth features -- I hope this means I can turn off my goofy syncing program and just have the SK3 sync directly with my computer, instead of going to the server first.
I have been trying out the MDA and other HTC products in the stores, and although the hardware features are pretty nice, the software is still slower than the Sidekick, which I can't figure out. (Yeah, yeah, it's Windows, but it's on a much faster chip with way more memory.) I think there's something about the core system software on the Sidekick that is just designed for multi-tasking. I remember having to wait for applications to switch when using the MDA. Even though the Sidekick is way less powerful, it's way faster for flicking through e-mail while chatting with friends on IM while waiting for a webpage to load.
When the SK2 came out, I did the early-adopter program thing and got it about a month before it was available in stores. I think I paid $200 for it (had to send my CSK back to T-Mobile, too). I wonder if they'll do the same thing this time.
Oh yeah, here's the link to the rumor article:

And here's a blog I found with some good information on features and impressions:
